New York State Lemon Law – Four Rights You Should Know

New York State lemon law has an adequate and fast remedy for consumers facing unwanted scenarios with their vehicles in spite of the fact that they were sent to their service centers for repairs. The manufacturer is to be heldiable if the car is not suitable to the terms of the warranty.

The State Lemon Law in New York covers demos for new and used under 4 rights and regulation:

Firstly, the car is supposedly to be covered by the manufacturer's new warranty at the time of delivery to the owner.

Second the car is supposed to be purchased, transferred or leased within the first 18,000 miles or at least two year from the actual date of delivery.

Thirdly, the car has to be purchased; transferred or leased in New York and at present should be registered there.

The last condition is the vehicle is supposed to be used only for personal purposes. This includes the car which can be used for household errands, driving to and fro to work. If you want to use this for your business and in spite of that want to be protected by the New York state lemon law you have to make sure that personal use of your vehicle is still on the way.

New York, like California, allows motor homes also to be covered under this law except the terms like fixtures, systems, appliances and other parts which comes under the residential nature. Generally motor vehicles and vehicles off road are not covered. Leased cars can be covered if the lessee is responsible for the repairs.

If you have a suspicion that your car will come in the New York State Lemon Law category, immediately take it to the authorized dealer or the manufacturer. Under lemon law the notice which is given to the dealer is considered a notice given to the manufacturer. When the dealer receives a notice the dealer has to take care of the necessary repairs.

If the dealer is not taking the step another letter can be written addressing the manufacturer. But the letter should reach the manufacturer in the next 20 days. After all this if the problem still remains then the dealer or the manufacturer is supposed to refund the full amount or may be should offer a comparable amount. The customer can choose what he wants.
